Ohio Valley Hospice acknowledges the effect that losing a loved one has on families and caregivers. Our Bereavement Program is designed to give them the caring support they need both prior to the patient’s death and following.
Grief is a natural reaction to loss, and it’s normal for families and friends to grieve for loved ones who are experiencing a life-limiting illness. Since the grieving process has no timetable, our support is available to caregivers and families for a minimum of 13 months following the patient’s death, free of charge.
Ohio Valley Hospice’s professional staff and volunteers offer an array of services to help those working through the grieving process. We provide:
- One-on-one counseling
- Printed educational and consultation materials for end-of-life care
- Supportive phone calls
- In-home support sessions
- Support groups
- Assistance with memorial services
At Ohio Valley Hospice, we pride ourselves on our commitment to bereavement efforts. Our arms are open to all those experiencing grief so they can benefit from our programs. Our bereavement services are available to all in our community, regardless of if their loved one was under our care.
